Once again....another chocolate cupcake!
So.....I'm a serious chocoholic, and it seems as though I've made a dozen different chocolate cupcake recipes, with no luck finding one that I was truely happy with.....that is, until today!!!! I just made a quick little decoration on top with candy melts, almost burning my parents house down in the process. Long story short..... I pushed 30 minutes instead of 30 seconds on the microwave and walked out of the kitchen....enough said. Oops!
Salty Caramel Cupcakes
Just recently, I had randomly read about salted caramel cupcakes, so I decided to try my hand at it. I decided to make some with a brown sugar cupcake and some with a chocolate cupcake. Who doesn't like options....right? These have a caramel filling and a yummy caramel frosting. These seriously took me hours to make (lots of different steps), and I'm not much of a caramel fan but these were pretty tasty!

Grad Party Cupcakes
This past weekend I got the chance to make cupcakes for a high school graduation party. I made an oreo cupcake, a red velvet cupcake, and a yellow butter cupcake. He is going to play golf at the University of Findlay, so I made some of the cupcakes with fondant golf balls. The other two kinds I decorated with his high school colors....one of the cupcakes I don't have a picture of because they turned out kinda bright but I will post it at a later date. I hope they enjoyed the cupcakes as much as I enjoyed making them!

Sticky Pecan Cupcake
These, by far, are the most delicious cupcakes I have ever made. A mixture of honey, brown sugar, and butter, as well as pecans goes at the bottom and then the cupcake batter on top. After baking you flip them over and get this sweet treat. They're even better warm right out of the oven!!!!

Mini cupcakes
I made these cute mini cupcakes using a Babycakes maker that I got from my sister and her family. It's pink and super cute. My nephews were coming over and it's a great way to make a small amount of little cupcakes quickly. I just used a box chocolate cake mix and whipped up some vanilla buttercream frosting.

Kayak Cake
For my husbands 30th birthday, I wanted to make him a cake that resembled something he enjoys....so I decided to make him a kayak cake. This is an activity that he enjoys but doesn't get the opportunity to do as much as he'd like. Unfortunately, my two children and my poor husband were sick on his birthday, so I wasn't able to spend the amount of time or do exactly what I was hoping to do, but I think it turned out pretty cute. Most importantly, I want my family to get healthy quick!!!

Oreo Cupcake
Since I seem to bake for every occasion these days, it seemed necessary to bake cupcakes the day Graylie turned 9 months old. I saw some Oreo cookies in the pantry so I decided to make an oreo cookie cupcake with an oreo cookie buttercream frosting. I made the yellow hearts out of candy coating. Baby Graylie didn't get to enjoy them (still too little for a cupcake), but I did give her a tiny taste of frosting! Yum!

Spring is Here!!!!!
To celebrate the fact that spring time is finally here, I decided to make a carrot cake cupcake with a maple cream cheese frosting. I guess it just reminds me of Easter. I was at the grocery trying to figure out what i should use for the carrot stem and ended up using thyme. My husband was a big fan of these cupcakes.
Cupcakes Galore
Trista and I just had a birthday, so I baked her enough mini cupcakes to give to every one of her art students that day. I thought they would love the bright colored frosting. To my surprise...the green was the first to go!
St. Patty's Day
I've always liked St. Patrick's day. I decided that I would make a cupcake that incorporated mint flavor somehow. I made a frosting out of Ande's mints and paired it with a chocolate cupcake. The frosting was super sweet but good, unfortunately, the cake itself was not so much....super dense and dry. A little disappointed but still fun to make.
Huxley's Birthday
My son is a complete super hero fanatic! So for his 3rd birthday I decided to make him some cupcakes. I actually got this idea from another blog called sugarswings, (she has some great ideas and gives you step by step instructions for these cupcakes). I melted down candy coating and then made the batman symbols out of that. My son and his cousins loved them, esp. the chocolate batman emblem on top!
Valentine's Treats
For those of you who enjoy baking, I'm sure you are aware of the most recent craze, I believe was started by Bakerella, the cake pop. Super cute and yummy! I decided to try my hand at it and ended up with some cute Valentine treats.

Brynn's Birthday
My sister, Shawna, asked me to make some cupcakes for my niece's birthday slumber party. Her birthday theme was icarly, so I looked at her birthday invites and decided to use some flower and abstract box designs that were on it. I was pretty pleased with the outcome, considering it was my first time working with fondant.
My New Obsession
This past Christmas, I was given a Kitchen Aid mixer from my parents, which in turn resulted in the beginning of my recent obsession and joy for baking.

Snome!!!
Another creation I've been working on. He's eventually going to be holding a rabbit, but I haven't gotten there yet. Kody was nice enough to take him outside this morning and get a good picture for me. He's made out of paper clay, which is an awesome material that I just discovered!!! I think he adds a little Spring to the Winter Storm Warning that we have right now.
