Kayak Cake
For my husbands 30th birthday, I wanted to make him a cake that resembled something he enjoys....so I decided to make him a kayak cake. This is an activity that he enjoys but doesn't get the opportunity to do as much as he'd like. Unfortunately, my two children and my poor husband were sick on his birthday, so I wasn't able to spend the amount of time or do exactly what I was hoping to do, but I think it turned out pretty cute. Most importantly, I want my family to get healthy quick!!!

Oreo Cupcake
Since I seem to bake for every occasion these days, it seemed necessary to bake cupcakes the day Graylie turned 9 months old. I saw some Oreo cookies in the pantry so I decided to make an oreo cookie cupcake with an oreo cookie buttercream frosting. I made the yellow hearts out of candy coating. Baby Graylie didn't get to enjoy them (still too little for a cupcake), but I did give her a tiny taste of frosting! Yum!

Spring is Here!!!!!
To celebrate the fact that spring time is finally here, I decided to make a carrot cake cupcake with a maple cream cheese frosting. I guess it just reminds me of Easter. I was at the grocery trying to figure out what i should use for the carrot stem and ended up using thyme. My husband was a big fan of these cupcakes.
Cupcakes Galore
Trista and I just had a birthday, so I baked her enough mini cupcakes to give to every one of her art students that day. I thought they would love the bright colored frosting. To my surprise...the green was the first to go!
St. Patty's Day
I've always liked St. Patrick's day. I decided that I would make a cupcake that incorporated mint flavor somehow. I made a frosting out of Ande's mints and paired it with a chocolate cupcake. The frosting was super sweet but good, unfortunately, the cake itself was not so much....super dense and dry. A little disappointed but still fun to make.
Huxley's Birthday
My son is a complete super hero fanatic! So for his 3rd birthday I decided to make him some cupcakes. I actually got this idea from another blog called sugarswings, (she has some great ideas and gives you step by step instructions for these cupcakes). I melted down candy coating and then made the batman symbols out of that. My son and his cousins loved them, esp. the chocolate batman emblem on top!
Valentine's Treats
For those of you who enjoy baking, I'm sure you are aware of the most recent craze, I believe was started by Bakerella, the cake pop. Super cute and yummy! I decided to try my hand at it and ended up with some cute Valentine treats.
